When talking about band-aids, I often consider what I would want to know most, if I knew nothing at all. When it comes to responding to a medical emergency, there is one answer that stands alone.... The Automated External Defibrillator.
Here's the scoop. If someone is in cardiac distress or heart failure, you can do CPR til you're blue in the face ( literally). In the end, the only thing you are buying with CPR is time. "Time for what ?", you may ask... well, for someone to come along with professional equipment, advanced life support, or... an A.E.D.
Yes, they do save lives, because they are capable of the jump start/interuption a heart may need to get running properly again...
With minimal training, anyone can do it. I highly recommend attend training from one of the many certified institutions available, AND save your money.... purchase an A.E.D. Keep it in your home and maintain it. There is nothing more valuable to the average person when it comes to saving lives.
