- pack high energy foods, like baked beans, that have a better shelf life regardless of temperatures.
- when packing breads, be sure to draw out as much air as possible, don't stop just because its shrinking.
- don't double up foods that you don't want infusing each other
- don't pack pasta's unless they are well drained
- dehydrated foods take up a lot less space
- seasonings on packed foods will intensify with time. Use seasoning with caution.
