Packing foods

If you're going to shrink pack foods for emergencies, camping, or what have you... a couple quick tips...


  • pack high energy foods, like baked beans, that have a better shelf life regardless of temperatures.
  • when packing breads, be sure to draw out as much air as possible, don't stop just because its shrinking.
  • don't double up foods that you don't want infusing each other
  • don't pack pasta's unless they are well drained
  • dehydrated foods take up a lot less space
  • seasonings on packed foods will intensify with time. Use seasoning with caution.
